This study examined the role of monetary and fiscal policies on the economic growth in Nigeria from 1985-2025. Secondary data was sourced from the 2025 World Development Indicators. Data was analyzed using ARDL model. Results from the study showed stationary variables in monetary policy rates (MPR), Public Capital Expenditure (PEX), and Tax Revenue (TRV). The study found that monetary and fiscal policies had positive impact on Nigeria economic growth in the time period reviewed. Furthermore, the study recommended the Nigerian fiscal authority should also prioritize and enhance tax revenue generation as a means to financing economic development. This should involve implementing strategies to improve tax compliance by streamlining tax laws and regulations to make them more efficient and user friendly, invest in technology and infrastructure to improve tax collection and enforcement, implement measures to reduce tax evasion and avoidance.
